Norso Medical Ltd Modern Slavery Statement
Norso Medical Ltd Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Norso Medical Ltd has taken to combat modern slavery and human trafficking within its operations and supply chains for the financial year ending [2024].
1. Organizational Structure and Supply Chains Norse Medical Ltd operates in the healthcare and medical device sector, providing advanced medical equipment and services globally. Our supply chain spans multiple regions, reflecting the diverse sourcing required to meet our high standards of quality and innovation. Our key suppliers are located in the following regions:
• United States: We source patient monitors from Masimo, simulation devices from Gau ma rd and Simulab, monitoring mounting solutions from GCX.
• Mexico: We source patient monitors and consumables from Masi mo.
• Europe: We source medical devices from IDMed and monitoring mounting solutions from CimMed.
• South Africa: We source medical devices from Xavant.
• China: We source patient monitors from Mind ray and monitoring mounting solutions from Corriton.
These supply chains involve complex logistics across various regions, each with its own regulatory framework and socio-economic risks. We recognize that regions like China and Mexico may have higher risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, particularly in industries dealing with electronics, consumables, and manufacturing.
2. Our Commitment Norse Medical Ltd is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, ensuring that all individuals working for or with us are treated with dignity and respect, free from exploitation, coercion, or abuse. Our aim is to ensure that no form of modern slavery exists within our operations and supply chains. We hold all suppliers and partners to the highest ethical standards, and we continually assess and address any potential risks associated with modern slavery.
3. Identifying and Addressing Modern Slavery Risks We recognize that certain sectors and regions may pose higher risks for modern slavery. To address these risks, we have implemented the following actions:
• Risk Assessments: We regularly conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas where modern slavery risks may arise, both within our operations and throughout our supply chains.
• Supplier Audits: We assess our suppliers-particularly those in high-risk regions or industries-to ensure compliance with ethical labour standards and to mitigate the risk of modern slavery.
• Supplier Engagement: We require all suppliers to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes explicit provisions to prevent forced labour, human trafficking, and other forms of modern slavery. Suppliers must complete annual self-assessments and are subject to periodic audits for compliance.
While we currently do not have a formal training program for staff on modern slavery, we are committed to developing and implementing training programs in the future to help our employees recognize modern slavery indicators and understand their role in maintaining compliance.
4. Reporting Concerns about Modern Slavery Although we currently do not have a formal whistleblowing mechanism, we encourage transparency and open communication. We strongly encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery directly to the General Manager. Concerns will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and treated with confidentiality. Norso Medical Ltd will ensure that no individual will suffer retaliation or discrimination for reporting concerns about potential violations of this policy in good faith.
5. Compliance and Monitoring We are committed to ensuring ongoing compliance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. To achieve this, we:
• Conduct regular audits and supplier assessments to ensure compliance with this policy and relevant legal standards.
• Review and update this statement annually to reflect the latest regulatory changes, our efforts to combat modern slavery, and the effectiveness of our measures.
• Engage with non-compliant suppliers to implement corrective actions where needed, and, if necessary, terminate relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our compliance standards.
6. Reporting and Consequences of Non-Compliance We take any violation of this policy seriously and will not tolerate modern slavery in any form. Suppliers found to be in breach of this policy will face:
• Corrective Actions: A clear plan to address and resolve any identified issues related to modern slavery.
• Termination of Contracts: Immediate termination of the business relationship if the supplier fails to take corrective action within an agreed timeframe.
Employees who violate this policy may face disciplinary action, including termination of employment.
7. Approval and Publication This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Norso Medical Ltd. It is reviewed and updated annually to ensure it remains aligned with current legislation and best practices. This statement is publicly available on the Norso Medical Ltd website [link].
